KC Stampede Varsity Wrestling Tournament Nixa Results

Below are the results from the 2012 Kansas City Stampede Varsity Wrestling Tournament. The KC Stampede is easily the toughest wrestling tournament of the year in the mid-west. The tournament featured over 30 returning state champions with many nationally ranked wrestlers in each weight class. Our wrestlers compete hard and competed throughout the two days of competition. The JV wrestling team took 2nd Place at the Lebanon JV Tournament this weekend! I will try to send out JV results this week as well.

The Nixa Boys Basketball Team traveled to Columbia Saturday to play in the Norm Stewart MBCA Challenge.  The #1 State Ranked Eagles came home with a 60 – 57 win over #2 ranked St Louis DeSmet Jesuit.  The Eagles were led by Bryce Dulin’s 14 points and 10 Rebounds.  Austin Ruder scored 13, with Wes Middleton scoring 10 pts and pulling down 8 rebounds.  The Eagles were an impressive 14-17 from the Free Throw line, but committed an uncharacteristic 22 turnovers to keep DeSmet in the game.  Chan Hocklander and Bryce Dulin both went 2-2 from the FT line in the last minute of the game to seal the victory.
